Terms of Use

Using Irada means you accept these terms. Please read them — section 3 in particular, because it says plainly what the app cannot do.
1. What Irada is
An app that helps you hold your own line on your phone: it blocks content you choose, keeps a commitment period you set yourself, involves an accountability partner you invite yourself, and offers tools for the moment resolve weakens.
It supports your resolve. It does not replace it.
2. Your account
- You need a valid email, and you are responsible for keeping your password safe.
- Do not create an account in someone else’s name.
- You must be 18 or older.
3. What Irada cannot do — please read this
No Android app can stop you outright. Irada builds strong friction, not an unbreakable wall.
- A factory reset cannot be prevented. We show a warning and tell your partner, and that is the whole of what we can do — genuine prevention needs an enterprise management privilege no app from the store holds.
- Protection can be switched off from your device settings. We tell you and we tell your partner, and we do not trap you inside a settings screen — that breaches Google’s policy, and we are not willing to do it.
- Website blocking does not cover every case. Some browsers use techniques that bypass the filter, and new sites appear before they reach a list.
- Blocking sections inside apps can break temporarily when those apps change their interfaces. We fix it as fast as we can.
- Uninstall protection relies on the device admin privilege, and you can withdraw it from settings.
- Private space and cloned apps are outside Irada’s sight. Each runs as a separate user on the phone, so nothing opened inside them is blocked, and your partner isn’t told. It is a platform limit we cannot get around.
- Notifications are not hidden during the emergency lock. While the emergency button has your phone locked, a notification from a blocked app may still appear at the top of the screen; tapping it opens the app, which is then blocked. Hiding notifications would require permission to read all of them, and we don’t ask for it.
We say this plainly because someone leaning on a false promise is failed at their weakest moment. The real value is in the friction, in the moment you stop and remember, and in having a partner who asks.
4. Acceptable use
Irada is for self-accountability. You install it on your own device and you choose your own limits.
Strictly forbidden: installing it on another person’s device to monitor them without their knowledge and consent, or using the partner feature for surveillance, coercion, or abuse. Accounts that do this are closed immediately.
The partner feature rests on both sides: you invite, they accept, they may refuse, and either of you may end it.
5. Subscription
- Some features are free; others are part of a paid subscription.
- The subscription is monthly or yearly, and renews automatically until you cancel it.
- Payment, renewal, and cancellation are handled by Google Play under its policies.
- You cancel from your Google Play account settings.
- After cancelling, the subscription runs to the end of the period you paid for.
Refunds
Payment happens in the Google Play store, not with us, so refunds are requested there: from the refund request page, under Google’s own terms and time limits. We can neither take the money nor return it.
And if you believe your case deserves more than that — a charge you didn’t intend, or a feature that never worked for you — write to us. We can’t promise the refund, because it isn’t ours to give, but we will vouch for what we can see in your account.
Granted subscriptions
We may grant a subscription at no charge — as a trial, as compensation for a fault, or to help someone who asked. A grant may carry a period and end with it, and we may withdraw it if it is used against section 4. It is a gift, not a sale, and carries no obligation to continue.
Our commitment: the end of your subscription never stops you from switching protection off or uninstalling. We will not hold your phone hostage for payment.
If your subscription stops
- The free features keep working and nothing is deleted from your list: whatever is beyond the free tier pauses and comes back the moment you renew.
- A commitment period ends if the subscription isn’t renewed after Google Play’s payment grace period. If you renew before the period’s original end date, that same period resumes — and if its end date has passed, you can start a new one.
- An accountability partner is removed three days after the subscription stops, unless you renew within that time.
6. Commitment period
You choose a stretch of time in which walking back your decision is hard. Before it starts we show a clear warning and you confirm it yourself. There is one way to end it early: contacting support.
A commitment period and an accountability partner never coexist: you can’t start a period while you have a partner, or invite one during it. The period also ends on its own if your subscription stops and isn’t renewed after the payment grace period (section 5) — and it resumes if you renew before its original end date.
Support reviews; it doesn’t act automatically. We read your request, your situation, and the time you have left — and we may act on it, or we may decline and suggest a shorter wait. If we granted every request the hour it arrived, the commitment would mean nothing — and it is the very thing you asked of yourself. We reply within 48 hours.
7. Limits of liability
The app is provided “as is”. We do our best to make it reliable, and we do not guarantee it will be free of faults or run without interruption, nor do we take responsibility for content that reaches you despite the blocking.
Irada is not medical or psychological treatment. If you are living with an addiction that affects your life, seek professional help — the app stands alongside that, not in place of it.
8. Ending the service
You may delete your account whenever you like: from inside the app, straight away — or, during a commitment period or an active partnership, by asking support, as the account deletion page explains. We may close an account that breaches section 4. And if we discontinue the service, we will tell you well in advance.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and we will tell you inside the app before any material change takes effect. Continuing to use the app afterwards means you accept it.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
These terms are issued in Arabic and English; the Arabic text governs in the event of any difference in meaning.
